Position Description:
The Facilities/Tech Co-ordinator, will oversee the management and operations of all the physical facilities and IT technologies related ministries of the church.
Duties of this position will include:
Maintaining full operation and security of the church facilities, facility related equipment and parking lots. For related equipment, this position will oversees, liaisons with outside contractor and if required performs maintenance/repair of equipment required for the operations of the church building, such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical devices.
Overseeing and coordinating the IT /AV technologies, such as audio, lighting, media, video, internet, websites and information system, for church ministries. , as to ensure IT/AV technologies are used efficiently, effectively, and strategically. In addition this position will help recruiting, training, leading a volunteer team and developing the team’s related technological skills.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Essential Functions:
Facilities:
• Manage and perform all work related to the maintenance and repair of facilities (including but not limited to building inspections, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, custodial, landscape, waste management and security)
• Ensure all church facilities and grounds are well maintained and ready for Sunday services and mid-week events
• Coordinate and manage custodians, facility administrative assistant and or contractors to be responsible for janitorial/cleaning of the facilities mid-week, weekends, and as needed
• Responsible for purchasing and maintaining supplies and equipment on an on-going basis
• Serve as primary contact for facility related emergencies, which may require evening and weekend work
• Oversee and provide event coordination. Ensure proper scheduling of set up and take down for meetings, special events, worship, weddings, memorial services, and otherwise as directed
• Work with appropriate government agencies to ensure that buildings are safe and meet current code requirements; Must be familiar with and ensure compliance of Occupational Health and Safety(OHS) regulations and standards
• Implement, monitor, and follow policies and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and provide efficient use of labor and materials
• Maintain expenditures related to the building, facilities, and grounds repairs and maintenance in accordance with the approved budget
• Work with the (Senior/Associate) Pastor and facility council and facility committee board to report problems, solutions and costs associated with projects not approved in the budget, and provide input to development of the annual budget
• Schedule and coordinate work with outside contractors, as necessary
• Develop and manage volunteer facilities team. Schedule and coordinate efforts of the team, as needed. Act as point of care for all facilities team members
IT/AV Technologies:
• Develop and maintain a reliable system for providing technical support for all worship services and events
• Produce digital media in support of group life and other ministry area consistently.
• Coordinating with the Worship Planning Team and Facility Committee oversee the technical support for Services and other special events.
• Recruit, equip, and lead an IT technical ministries team in collaboration with deacons and related pastors.
• Maintain digital records of worship services and other church events.
• Provide technological consultation and leadership to improve ECCC IT systems and applications.
• Coordinate and oversee IT and web development staff and volunteers.
• Provide training and support to staff in use of ECCC IT systems.
Education Qualifications and Experience:
• Knowledge of the practices, methods, and equipment utilized in facility maintenance, construction, and repair activities; including skills and abilities related to plumbing, janitorial, electrical systems, painting, carpentry, construction and heating and air conditioning systems
• Knowledge of security practices and protocol related to facility management
• Knowledge of safety practices and applicable regulations
• Must be computer literate with knowledge in all Microsoft Office software and email.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of the approaches and techniques involved in budgeting, labor relations, contract management, project management, record keeping, etc.
• Capable of coordinating multiple tasks and adjusting to the changing priorities, meeting deadlines, and scheduling of a growing church
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and take initiative
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities and tight deadlines, work under pressure and remain flexible
• Ability to recruit and train others so the church is fully equipped to respond to any need pertaining to grounds and facilities
• Must be able to use discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times

Tech:
Has minimum a university degree in computer sciences or engineering, and formal training in production or a related discipline. Experiences with technologies in a church worship and ministry event production environment is required. Knowledge with software such as DAWS(reaper), Logic Pro, Dante, ProPresenter, Live-Streaming, Video Editing Software and website design will be an asset.
Education and Certifications:
• Having an engineering education, work experience or background is a plus.
• Maintenance and technician certifications are desirable
• Minimum of (2) years in facilities management or related occupation; Experience in one or more of the technical areas of HVAC, Electrical, Electronics, Plumbing, Locksmith, Security Controls, Gardening & Landscaping, Construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the job as listed above
• Leadership: Has successfully led IT teams at large organizations across multiple platforms. Adept at leveraged technology to help organizations accomplish its mission.
• Interpersonal Skills: Relates well to all kinds of people by listening, negotiating and educating. Builds effective relationships and teams.
• Technical Capability: Excellent understanding of Internet technologies, web development and integration, business IT systems, E-mail systems, operating systems, database systems, office applications, and media delivery systems.
• Critical Thinking: Able to analyze complex problems and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Manage development and integration projects.
• Plan, design, develop and maintain applications and websites
• Work with end-users to determine requirements and create designs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software problems. Support end users.
• Communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Explain technical concepts in non-technical terms to staff and volunteers.
• Keep current by continually reading, interpreting, and applying information on technological changes and updates.
• Prioritize requests, organize, schedule, and coordinate a variety of activities and projects.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Work Schedule:
Employee will be required to work forty(40) hours and a minimum of thirty (30) hours of per week or as many hours as it may take to perform above job duties. Schedule will include Sundays. Holidays such as Easter and Christmas are required work days and the week leading up to these holidays should be considered unavailable for personal vacation. Schedule may vary based on event demands and may require a combination of office hours as well as work performed after hours and/or weekends if necessary.
